Getting Started

How do I create my first budget?

Once you've signed up and logged in, head to the Budgets page from the sidebar. Click 'Create Budget', enter a name, your income for that period, and the start/end dates. Your budget will be created and ready to use straight away.

Can I have multiple budgets?

Yes. MyBudgr supports multiple budget periods so you can track each month or pay period separately. All your budgets are listed on the Budgets page.

What is a spending pot?

A spending pot is a named allocation of money within your budget. For example, you might create pots for Groceries, Petrol, and Eating Out. You set how much to allocate to each pot and then track what you spend against it.

Fixed Bills

What is the difference between a recurring and a one-off bill?

A recurring bill (such as rent or a monthly subscription) will automatically be copied into your next budget with its due date moved forward by one month when you create a new budget period. A one-off bill only appears in the budget it was added to.

How do I mark a bill as paid?

On the Fixed Bills page within a budget, each bill has a toggle or action to mark it as paid. This updates the bill status and is reflected in your budget overview.

Why has my bill appeared again in a new budget?

If a bill is marked as recurring, MyBudgr automatically carries it forward when you create a new budget. This saves you having to re-enter regular payments every month.

Savings

How do savings pots work?

Savings pots are separate from your spending budget. You create a pot with an optional target amount, then allocate money towards it from within each budget period. Your savings balance grows over time as you make deposits.

Can I withdraw money from a savings pot?

Yes. On the Savings page, each pot has a withdraw option. Withdrawals reduce the balance of the pot and are recorded in the transaction history.

How do I allocate budget money to savings?

Inside a budget, go to the Allocations tab. At the bottom of the page you will find the Savings Allocations section where you can assign a portion of your unallocated funds to any of your savings pots.

Account & Security

How do I change my password?

Go to Settings from the sidebar and scroll to the Password section. Enter your current password and your new password, then save the changes.

How do I change my email address?

In Settings, you will find an Email Address section. Enter your new email address and save. You will receive a confirmation email to the new address before the change takes effect.

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. All data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security enabled, meaning your data is completely isolated from other users. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the Settings page under the Danger Zone section. Deleting your account permanently removes all your budgets, bills, allocations, and savings data and cannot be undone.
